Mission
The mission of the Roy & Dora Whitman Academy Corporation is to raise funds to help support the education of the children of international evangelical workers. The Corporation is organized exclusively for charitable, religious, and educational purposes, and all donations are tax deductible.
Whitman Academy provides a huge service to Evangelical Christian workers in the Middle East by giving their children a quality, affordable Christian education in English. This allows these families to stay in the region and follow their call from God.
Since its establishment in 1994, the school has steadily grown from 8 students to 120 in 2009. For the majority of those years, classes have been held in a rented apartment building. For the last two years, the building has been filled to capacity and prospective students for 2010 had to be placed on a waiting list.
Whitman Academy has launched a comprehensive fundraising campaign to help the school meet its expansion needs over the next decade. The "Whitman Academy Expansion Fund" will involve administrators, students, alumni, and other friends of Whitman. We are inviting you to become involved
Our primary campaign focus is to build a K-12 school to meet our present and future needs. We want to raise $10 million. The Phase I goal is to raise $1.5 million by May 10, 2010.
